Why Teran?

It is rooted in the tradition and oenological heritage of Istria for centuries. Only a hundred years ago, it was the leading variety in Istrian vineyards. Teran is still the most important Istrian black grape variety, which in recent years has undergone a new revaluation by numerous wine admirers. We organized this conference in order to bring wine lovers, wine professionals and journalists closer to the style and characteristics of Teran and variety potential for top quality. We did it also to draw public attention to the struggle to preserve the use of the traditional name used in Istria since 1390.
